What is MN Strip Studio?

MN Strip Studio is a visual design tool for creating the graphics of MNodes controls: knobs, sliders, buttons and toggles.

When you use a knob in MNodes, what you see on screen is a "film strip": a single image containing many frames (usually 128) of the knob at different rotation angles. As you turn the knob, MNodes shows the right frame, creating the illusion of a physical control moving in real time.

MN Strip Studio lets you design these film strips visually with a real-time preview and export them as PNG files ready to use in MNodes. It runs entirely in your browser, no installation needed.

Quick path

1. The Interface : learn the workspace.
2. Control Types : pick what you want to design.
3. Render Modes : 3D PBR or 2D Classic.
4. Layers : add shapes, rings, indicators, text.
5. Exporting : download a PNG film strip.
6. Using in MNodes : load it in a widget node.

What you can do with it

• Design fully custom knobs, sliders, buttons and toggles
• Pick from 3D PBR (photorealistic, with materials and lighting) or 2D Classic (flat, with gradients and strokes)
• Build complex designs by stacking layers (bodies, rings, pointers, knurling, text, images, shadows, highlights)
• Apply material presets (gold, chrome, carbon fiber, wood, piano black and more)
• Customize lighting, environment reflections, bloom and post-processing in 3D
• Click Random to generate unique designs instantly for inspiration
• Save projects as .mnstrip files, load them later, share directly to social
• Export a PNG film strip ready to drop into an MNodes Film Strip widget
